RS Mechanics is a mobile mechanic working out of Norwich, covering Norwich, North Norfolk, South Norfolk and Suffolk.
25 years as a full-time professional mechanic, working on everything from cars and vans to light commercials, heavy plant and agricultural machinery. That range is the useful part — a fault on a Transit and a fault on a tractor are often the same fault wearing different clothes.
The mobile side came out of a simple observation: for most customers, the difficult part of getting a car fixed is not the repair. It is getting the car there, getting yourself back, and doing it again at the end of the day. Take that away and the whole thing gets easier.
So the van comes to you. The tools, the diagnostic equipment and the parts all turn up at your address, and the work gets done while you carry on with your day.
"Always on the move"
It is written on the side of the van, and it is fairly literal. Most days are spent going from one driveway to the next across Norfolk.
How we work
Told before, not after
The price is agreed before any work starts. If something else turns up while we are there, you hear about it and decide.
New or used parts
Whichever suits you and the vehicle. On an older car a good used part is often the sensible answer, and we will say so.
Backed up
1-year warranty on all new parts. The same standard you would expect from a garage.
Honest about limits
Some jobs need a ramp, an alignment rig or an MOT bay. We tell you that before we come out, not after.

What we do most of
Interim Service
Oil, filter and a full safety check, done on your drive. Suited to higher-mileage vehicles between annual services.
Full Service
The annual service: all filters, fresh oil, fluids and a full inspection — carried out at your home or workplace.
Vehicle Diagnostics
Warning light on? We plug in at your address, read the fault codes and tell you what is actually wrong.
Brake Repairs
Pads, discs, fluid and handbrake work carried out on your drive. Grinding or squealing brakes are worth acting on quickly.
Battery Testing & Replacement
Car will not start? We test the battery and charging system where the vehicle is, and fit a replacement if that is what it needs.
MOT Failure Repairs
Failed its MOT? Bring us the sheet and we will put the failures right where the car is parked.
